$1,499.00

Born 21 Dec 1986 in BIkita, Masvingo, Zimbabwe. Douglas is presently living in Chitingwiza, he is married and has one son called Munashe. He has been sculpting since 2002, under the tutorship of the legendary Colleen Madamombe. He says, “Having been taught by Colleen, I can see that she is my greatest inspiration to continue working in this field of art”. Douglas says, “My love of abstracts is what I work on most. I love working on Spring Stone. The biggest challenge I face in my work is not being able to purchase the appropriate equipment like chisels and grinders. Not having these tools can really negatively impact the process. The most satisfying thing I can do is to make a piece that goes beyond Zimbabwe’s borders”.
