#67 Cool & Relaxed, Storkbird by artist CLOPAS KAMERE

$699.00

Clopas was born in 1974, in Rushing district, Mount Darwin, in the northeastern part of Mashonaland central. He grew up and was educated in Mount Darwin, never dreaming, wishing, or having ambitions of becoming a sculptor. After he completed his O levels, he traveled to Harare, where he joined his young brothers who were in the stone sculpture field. Besides all other career options, Clopas felt that sculpting was the best thing for him. He started working under the Mutasa brothers as an assistant and later started doing work on his own. He specializes in the subject matter of animals and birds, mainly using very hard stones for his work. In 2001 he received an opportunity to travel to Belgium to host workshops. He tries to visit Belgium annually for these workshops and would love to visit USA one day. His vision is to teach the young generation about sculpting in stone.
