Nhamo was born on 1 January 1978, in Mutoko District, Zimbabwe. While he was at Art School, and with no previous formal training in art, his drawings were always highly admired by teachers and other students. He learned stone carving at the local Chitingwiza Art Centre and was inspired by the artist Nobert Shamhuyarira. Nhamo completed his first exhibition at the National Gallery of Zimbabwe, in 1998. He is a married man and is a working artist now based at the Chitungwiza Arts Centre.
