Godfrey was born on 19 January 1976, in Gutu, Masvingo Province, Zimbabwe. His art career started at the age of 13 when he was drawn to working with wood at school. In 1997 he moved to Harare to pursue his studies. His uncle, Gladman Zinyeka, inspired him to join the world of stone carving, and he has never looked back! He started working on his own in 2000, and his work consists of abstracts mostly in hard stones. Spring stone is his favourite stone to work with. His work has been exhibited in Europe and the USA. He is married to Moreblessing, and they have 2 children.
