Bywell was born on 28 November 1979. He began sculpting at an early age having been influenced by his brother, the late Brighton Sango. During the school holidays, he assisted his brother in creating and completing his sculptures, and in the process, he developed a similar cubic style to his brother, Brighton. Competition among the Sango brothers has been significant in developing subtly unique approaches. Bywell concentrates on perfecting his own cubic interpretation of emotions and situations in abstract form. His inspiration derives not so much from Shona mythology as from the shape of the stone itself. His work has been exhibited all over the world and in Zimbabwe. He prefers to work with Cobalt, Opal, Spring stone, and Serpentine. Some of his sculptures have qualified for the top 100 Sculptures in the world. His future plan is to have his own studio to train less privileged younger artists and to have an exhibition, workshops, and cultural exchange program worldwide.
