Artwell was born in Harare in 1972. At the age of 19, he was inspired to become a stone sculptor. He draws inspiration from his wife and children.  Artwell says “I want to make a great success of my art with the concept of excellence and perfection in my heart. I am sure my art will reach great heights. My works are on display at the Harare Safari Lodge Zimbabwe, Musande Gallery Germany, Guruve Gallery UK, South Korea and my workplace Chitungwiza Arts Centre, amongst others”.

Artwell specializes in human figurative abstracts of which female fat figures are his main subject.  He says, “I think they are a form of beauty, tenderness and warmth of heart”.
